KIM ROSEN - Staff Engineer
As an integral part of WWSM for the last 7 years, Kim has dedicated herself to learning how things sound, and how to make them sound their absolute best.
Starting in production, and working alongside Alan, She has assisted on nearly all of his mastering projects over the years. Learning what text books and online "discussion groups" can not teach. Not how things work... but how things SOUND. Working at WWSM means you have to be a jack of at least a few trades, so Kim has gained further experience in helping a few of our friends with tracking, Authoring ECD's - editing analog tape (what's that?) - soldering - baking and transferring old 2" analog tapes and providing customer service with a thoroughness, not often found these days.
Kim's established relationships with many of Alan's clients has allowed her opportunities to work on many of her own mastering projects, such as: Radio 4, Franz Ferdinand, Dashboard Confessional, Jeremy Enigk, Pterodactyl, Mustache, Casket Architects, Calla, Avec, River City High, Royal American and many more. Every project that has passed through the ears and gear of WWSM in the last 7 years, Kim has, to some extent, been involved in.
The labels, the clients.... Kim has worked with them all. She still finds time to help keep the studio running smoothly, so don't be surprised if she answers the phone when you call. Kim has been around WWSM long enough to know everything that goes into kicking ass for clients, and then some! Kim has proudly been working as a staff mastering engineer for the last 4 years, and no music is beyond her capacity to help achieve the best possible, final product and sound. She still even makes the coffee sometimes...
